Consumer Protection BC is the regulator of a variety of sectors and specific types of consumer transactions in British Columbia. They are responsible for licensing and inspecting businesses. They also administer the Travel Assurance Fund (TAF) available only when booking with a Travel Agent.
TICO
TICO - the Travel Industry Council of Ontario is the organisation responsible for regulating the travel industry in Ontario. Members registered with TICO must meet financial criteria as well as conduct business in accordance with disclosure and advertising standards.
