A Travel Story: A parent travels with their teen
As a mom of 4 boys, I can’t tell you how much I value the one-on-one time I share with my kids. Sadly, those moments are often limited to driving them to soccer or reading a bedtime story. So, when I chose the travel industry as a career path, I fell in love with the idea of taking a one-on-one adventure with each of my children before they reached adulthood. When my good friend contacted me saying she wanted to take her 15-year-old son to Thailand and Vietnam, I jumped at the opportunity. My friend was doing exactly what I wanted to do with my boys!
Where is the best place to travel with my teen?
Find out the best place to travel with your teen from our clients. Meet Tamara and her son, Scott, in our featured video above, or Marcus Dashevsky, a 15-year old writer, who relives his trip with his mom to Club Med inside the Personal Travel Management blog.
One thing is certain, Tamara and Scott’s trip did exactly what it was intended to do – build a bond that would bring them closer than ever. G-Adventures hosted mom and son on a Vietnam Hike, Bike & Kayak adventure. And, for the second part of their family travel experience they travelled through Thailand with the help of a tailor-made Personal Travel Management itinerary. While away, Tamara documented their most memorable moments. As a travel agent, I thought to myself my clients need to see the love and excitement of these two travelling the world - together. We all desperately want to connect with our children, and Tamara did it! If you haven’t already, watch the video above to get a peek at their adventure through Asia.
In today’s north American culture, we put so much emphasis on education through institutions. Travel is an endless opportunity for personal, social, spiritual, cultural and educational growth. What we gain when traveling is invaluable. Our world is so vast and has so much to offer. While Tamara and her son chose Asia, Personal Travel Management specializes in plenty of adventures from our own backyard to further afar. Just imagine taking your young adult to Haida Gwaii or Africa. Darci Guarderas from Anderson Vacations and Ashish Sanghrajka from Big Five speak in our video on how such destinations can change the course of your life through an unforgettable experience.
